6 Ways to promote your mobile app other than websites

Websites are the best and evergreen technique to promote your product. As I’ve been in promoting apps during my previous internship so, I somehow have the knowledge. Inviting guest authors to mention your app in relevant places and posts on highly reputed websites is a convenient way to promote your app. We can also write listings mentioning our app and describing our app.

6 Ways to promote your mobile app other than websites

1) Social Media.

Social Media and social media chit-chat groups are the best ways to make your presence and increase your brand awareness. If we have a really genuine and awesome app that people can love we can promote it easily. If someone loves the app they sure will share it with others. Social presence matters a lot to have a sufficient amount of downloads. Different types of social media websites have different types of sharing criteria. As we can share GIFs on giphy. Links and photos to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr, Reddit, etc.

We can join active social media groups and share our links there. If we have a premium version of our app we can invite influencers to try our paid version by giving them offer codes and then asking them for a share of their status. This will bring genuine users.

There are two types of social media endorsements

  1. Paid - We can use paid promotion to increase the impressions and outreach of our posts. Paid App promotion will boost your discoverability and get more people flocking to your app.

  1. Organic - The Simpler way or the ethical way to get to our audiences. Posting photos and media on Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms.

2) App Store Optimization (ASO)

  • ASO is the traditional app promotion technique. In other words, it is the SEO of the mobile app world.

  • Keeping the app name unique.

  • Including the relevant keywords but be sure not to stuff keywords

  • Have relevant screenshots and attractive videos to introduce your app.

  • Having a positive rating by genuine users to have an awesome impression upon landing users.

3) Search Ads.

It's the paid way of promoting an app. Search ads can cost you but it is well worth the cost as they will drive the result. You can also be able to track insights into your ads as well. As of today most of the ad networks are giving you tools to design your ad ineffective way and then let you watch your analytics of how your ads are performing. The CPC - Cost per Click and PPC - Pay Per Click is the two different approaches that we can implement.

4) Influencer/Celebrity endorsements.

If we have any connections to the tech world or within the respected industry in which we are involved. If there are any location or industry-specific influencers you can connect with and having them promote your app via their social channels and blog is an impressive way to attract users to your app.

5) Traditional In-Store Advertising

Printing posters and stickers goodies and merchandise are the traditional way o have them promote your app 24x7. These are the best way a user is attracted. Poster wallpapers can also be stuck to the walls of stores to create brand awareness.

6) Using signal and list your coupons on the other websites as well

Coupon listing websites are the best way to draw users to your app like honey. They have various groups of users to land on the app. Remember having an attractive coupon code heading can lead a user to your app.

Sharing an attractive notification via services like one signal can draw users to your app. This can let users click on the notification as soon as they connect to the internet. This will let your users keep themselves informed about the latest offers and promotions.

The changing role of the Designer - Practical Human Centred Design

Source- uxdesign.cc My professor often used to say “An artist designs for himself but a designer designs for others.” I didn’t quite understand that statement until I came across the concept of Human-centred design. Now you might think, wait a minute I have heard of design thinking but what is Human-centred Design? Evolving human needs in our dynamic environment cannot be satisfied with old products or offerings. New products, services, and experiences need to be created regularly to bring value to the user and a perceivable change for the better. Human-centered design is a creative approach to problem-solving and is the backbone of innovation. It’s a process that starts with the problem recognition of people you’re designing for and ends with solutions that fulfill their needs. Human-centered design is all about understanding, being aware of, and being sensitive to the feelings, thoughts, and experiences of the people you’re designing for, basically putting yourself in their shoes. It...

Source: pixabay.com " When it comes to innovation, the business has much to learn from design. The philosophy in design shops is, 'try it, prototype it, and improve it ." By Roger Martin What is prototyping?   A prototype is a high fidelity representation of the ultimate app. In fact, it mimics almost the exact user experience/UX as the real interactive app. It allows the stakeholders to extensively test and introduce new ideas if required since they are dealing with a working model with features like hyperlinks and even clickable buttons. The great thing about prototyping is that we can easily identify and predict design and usability problems without even writing a single line of code!  Choosing the right tool:       There's an array of free and paid prototyping tools available in the market. Selection should be based on factors like: What does the client want? Does it allow collaboration with other fellow designers in the team? Is it affordable? The...
